But what is an adapted photo? We explain it below!

Pixels matter!

The number of pixels in your camera largely determines the quality of your canvas print. Pixels are the number of points in the photo. The more pixels you have, the closer the points are to each other and the sharper your image.

Logic, no?

The famous “dpi”, the key to a successful painting

The DPI or Dots per Inch tells you the number of pixels per inch. The higher it is, the sharper the image. The ideal resolution: 300 dpi . Beyond, it is impossible to perceive the difference.

For a classic photo, we tend to a resolution of 300 dpi. For a table, however, a lower resolution will not cause problems. Why ? Because a painting is contemplated from further than a photo. You can therefore choose a resolution of 100 to 300 dpi , depending on the distance at which you will look at your photo on canvas.

Now, one inch = 2.54 cm. Count between 40 and 100 pixels per centimeter for your photo on canvas.Calculate the ideal size of your photo on canvas : Read More

Here is a practical example. Your photo was taken with a device of 6000X4000 pixels. You intend to hang your canvas in a large room. Since you are more than 50 cm away from your canvas, you choose a resolution of 40 pixels per cm

All you need to do is divide the number of pixels in your device by the desired resolution for your canvas:

Length: 6000 pixels / 40 pixels per cm = 150 cm

Width: 4000 pixels / 40 pixels per cm = 100 cm

For ease, choose a good authoring software, which will automatically check the ideal format for your photo.
